On being Frank Poncherello

There's something hilarious and disturbing about being spoken to by a young child who is convinced that he is a motorcycle police officer.

My 4 year-old is prancing around the house, with his arm in a sling of course, telling all who will listen about the goings on in his fictional world of the California Highway Patrol.

It appears that I have been assigned the role of Frank "Ponch" Poncherello. I am honoured!

My wife is upstairs using the computer. She has been assigned the part of Sergeant Joe Getraer. Apparently she is "doing very work" as we speak.

My youngest son is now to be known as Len Parsons, a persistent lawbreaker from Season 5 of CHiPs.

I can't help thinking this is all my fault :-)

Now they are walking behind me, the younger throwing punches at the older one's broken arm. I mean how more damaging could he be. Instead of shouting "Dad, he's hitting me" I am instead faced with "Ponch! Len Parsons is hitting me. Stop it Len! You're going to jail you bad man"

Apparently Bonnie (Clark) and (Barry) Baricza have no news to report. Who in our house is playing the role of these 2 is beyond me.

He's been playing this game for almost an hour now. This is the longest span of attention he has ever shown to something!

Now I'm trying to figure out if Jon Baker (the 4 year old) is hungry.

I have to admit that I'm enjoying this.
